Academic IELTS is designed for aspiring students planning to study abroad and apply to international universities or colleges.
General Training IELTS is designed for individuals planning to relocate, undertake non-academic training or gain work experience abroad.
IELTS examination has four sections designed to evaluate overall English language proficiency.
Tests the ability to understand conversations, lectures and spoken English in different accents.
Evaluates reading comprehension and understanding of academic or general passages.
Measures the ability to present ideas clearly through structured writing tasks.
Conducted face-to-face with an examiner to assess spoken English communication skills.
The IELTS examination lasts for approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The speaking test is conducted face-to-face with an examiner for both test formats.
IELTS results are usually declared within two weeks. The result is called the Test Report Form (TRF).
